DENTON- Redshirt transfer from the University of New Mexico, Quincy Noble, joined the Mean Green women's basketball team last season.

“At New Mexico, as a freshman, I didn’t do as well as I wanted to do,” said Noble. “I felt like I needed to go somewhere else that was going to help me develop and find my love again. And you know just thrive on the court and I just felt like North Texas was the place.”

This season Noble sat at second place in Conference USA for three-point percentage, third in three-pointers per game, and fifth in points per game.

It was obvious from the start that she would be important to the team.

“I didn’t know what it was going to look like once she got in with the team and in the fold and you know, the chemistry just kind of works itself out at some point in the season but you knew she was going to be a big part,” said Head Coach Jalie Mitchell.

The Mean Greens season came to an end in the first round of the Conference USA tournament, Noble says the loss is what helps keep her motivated for next season.

“I shot a lot this season, I drove a lot but there’s still more I need to add to my game, maybe more ball-handling, there’s always something that I see I need to add so I feel like that’s what’s going to keep me hungry,” said Noble.

“If I don’t end up with anything personal next year, I just want the ring, like that’s the big one, I want the ring, I want to feel what our men’s team is feeling.”
