The 2023 NFL Draft is a sharp contrast from its predecessor, particularly with the drastic improvement in the quarterback pool. Where this year’s draft shines the most, is with the depth past in the mid to late rounds, a direct result of the 2020 covid year. This affects how teams will approach the first round, giving more of an incentive to trade back. The wild card factor of the draft is undoubtedly the ongoing Lamar Jackson debacle which has the potential to shift the top of the board in a domino-like manner. This mock draft prioritizes realism through team needs and pre-draft connections but doesn’t shy away from the craziness of trade-ups and smokescreen selections.
