DENTON- Between the intersections of Elm and Locust, Judy Smith’s ‘Adopt-A-Spot" lines the fence of Sherman drive.
Judy is a Denton local who is known for her impact on the community. As the former owner of Rose Costumes and ½ of the Chairy Orchard Fairies, Smiths' love for art is known.
Her ‘Adopt-A-Spot' is no different, for Smith it was just another way she could do what she loves.
“To me, it was like my own personal little art gallery that I just decorate whenever I get a whim,” said Smith.
All of Smith's art is made from recycled materials.
The city is especially thankful for Smith's role in the program.
Carly Weld, the Denton Parks and Rec Volunteer coordinator, said “I think lifetime distinction winner says it all, she’s just been so important to us and she’s represented our mission so well for so long, we are just so thankful for her.”
Judy’s spot is decorated all year round but to see something extra special, check it out on the 4th of July.
