Earlier today Denton County Public Health announced the eighth and ninth deaths related to COVID19 in Denton County. The eighth death was a woman in her 50’s, while the ninth was a man in his 70’s. Both patients were residents of Lewisville, TX who caught the virus from local transmission, they both were hospitalized. In order to respect the individuals and their families no more information about the patients was released by DCPH. Denton County Judge Andy Eads said, “This terrible news underscores the significance of the stay-at-home mandate and the importance of practicing social distancing on all outings. We must work together to flatten the curve.”
In addition to the two deaths, Denton County added 28 new cases of COVID19 bringing the total of active cases up to 286. 31 people were also cleared of the virus today making April 9th the first day more people have recovered from the virus than have been diagnosed positive since the pandemic reached Denton County.
