Combating Allergies

Laura Nunez

Allergies have hit UNT students hard due to high levels of grasses such as dock, ragweed and lamb’s quarter along with moderate levels of mold spores in the air.

Students are more susceptible to outdoor allergies on campus as they travel from building to building putting them at higher rates of exposure than individuals who remain inside all day.

Doctors recommend getting ahead of allergy season through the use of over the counter medicine or home remedies. Ways to combat allergies include closing windows, changing clothes that may have pollen and eating more foods rich in vitamins and probiotics.
