When people think of bugs and insects, it’s probably not how to multiply their numbers. However, this past Wednesday on February 13 UNT Save the Bees Association did just that. This association works with the city of Denton to increase the population of pollinators.
It was a collaborative effort between the UNT Community Garden, UNT We Mean Green Fund Department, Denton Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center, and City of Denton Sustainability to put together a free pollinator friendly gardening workshop for anyone interested in learning how to increase the numbers of bees, bats, and butterflies.
Rachel Weaver lead a hands-on workshop that covered how to plan, plant, and maintain a successful spring garden that will be sure to attract many pollinators. For more information on on how you can promote these insects head over to the UNT Community Garden Page for more.
