The University of North Texas held a ceremony to celebrate its largest monetary donation, of $30 million, in the university’s history on Monday, February 4. The donation was from G. Brint Ryan, an alumnus of UNT and successful businessman. Ryan serves as a chairman of the system board of regents and says he is looking forward to how his gift will improve the college of business.
Ryan graduated from UNT in 1998 with both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting. Now he is the founder of Ryan LLC, a global tax and accounting firm. He has also received several university honors such as, the Outstanding Alumnus Service Award, the Wings of Eagles Presidential Award, and several others.
The money will be put towards improving the college of business by attracting new professors, academic innovations, and improving the reputation of the college on a national scale. Another part of the deal is renaming the college of business to the G. Brint Ryan College of Business.
