Heart of Dallas Bowl Moves to Arlington

The Heart of Dallas Bowl has a new home just 30 minutes away.

The City of Dallas will no longer pay ESPN to keep the game at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park in downtown Dallas. Over the course of two years, the city paid ESPN $800,000 to broadcast the game.

Attendance at the Heart of Dallas Bowl has decreased over the past two years. 20,507 attended the 2017 game with Utah v. West Virginia. The Cotton Bowl was only filled to 22 percent of its capacity.

The annual game will be played in Arlington at AT&T Stadium. There is no official date set for this year's game.

North Texas played in the Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2014 and 2016.
