Well, the Bed Desk™ served me well, but after a few days of that, my back was hurting, and to be honest, I kept napping. So I finally broke down and cleared all of the junk off of my desk and turned it into an acceptable place to work. I love a before and after as much as the next person, but the amount of just straight up junk that was on my desk before isn't something anyone needs to see, so I'll stick with the after.
Before I cleared it off, I had my printer, stackable filer, and some older textbooks just taking up space and collecting dust on the top, so I moved them to this underneath part of the desk to give myself more room. I actually ended up really liking this setup, because I can still access the printer super easily, and if I need any of those papers, they're right there, just out of my way. The only downside is that I keep kicking my printer while I'm trying to work. Oh well, it's tough and can take it.
Pretty much everything that is on the walls, like the calendar, pictures, and corkboard, where already there, but I did add a goals list above my computer. I don't know about y'all, but my sleep schedule is way out of whack right now. So I did a little art project at 4am the other day and made a goal lists for today, this week, and long term goals. So the big question is whether or not all of this organizing has been helping. The answer is kind of. I've been able to sit down and knock out assignments a lot easier than I was before, but I'm still struggling staying motivated and on top of everything. But I have to admit that it is really really nice having a place to go when I need to zone out and get work done. Overall, I'm glad I did it, and I'm looking forward to making good use out of it.
ALSO, if you know me, you know that I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan. My screensaver rotates between photos of some of my favorite Cowboys moments. The picture that's up right now is debatably my favorite one of Amari Cooper scoring a game winner of a deflected catch in overtime against the Eagles; he absolutely crushed Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas, and it will never not make me smile. Enjoy!
