After Spring Break, I thought having an additional time off was gonna be a fantastic experience. It was a perfect opportunity to binge my favorite shows and play animal crossing. After the first day of staying home, I was already over it. Things that I was looking forward to after taking care of responsibilities were boring and not satisfying. After talking to a long time mentor and friend, he pointed out that they were just time killers and not what I was passionate about. So after watching parks and recreations for the 10th time, I had to remember what they were.
My passion was being creative and working out. Luckily for me, I had the adobe suite under my belt. So spent a lot of my time working on my drawings and trying to create special effects. The great thing about working on these things is that if you keep trying to work on it until you're mentally checked out and don't want to look at it anymore.
That took care of one of my crafts, but there was still one problem. Due to the sever spread of COVID-19, all the gyms were closed. So that was a huge problem after a week of not working out. I have become angst and had no way to channel that out. Another issue was that the equipment was sold out on Amazon and other vendors. I knew immediately that 100 pushups and situps were not gonna cut it. So, I had to get creative. After hours of looking around the house, I was able to find two 25 lbs plates, a barbell, some rope, and a dog toy. After some trial and error, I was able to jerry-rig a pull system for some workouts. Fortunately, it was able to hold after a workout circuit, and I was really proud of myself.
The best thing to do during these uncertain times is to hunt for the good stuff. For me, it was mastering my craft and really honed in on it. It got me in a better mood and helped me stay busy.
